Game Update: June 24, 2021 | Behind the Scenes | Part 1

We’ve developed a rock-hard reputation for under-promising and over-delivering.

So, when we say we’re developing one of the most innovative world-building online video games ever made, we f**king mean it, and our community knows we mean it. That said, development for a project this ambitious takes over 12 months, and 12 months is a very long time in crypto, especially when 95% of video game projects announced by tokens end up being vaporware.

Instead of giving you all 50 pound blue balls for an entire year, we decided we’re just gonna be completely transparent with the entire development process, every step of the way.

Everything from concept art to playable demos of even the earliest prototypes are gonna be posted publicly on a regular basis, and everyone from dedicated CHAD stans to new investors will witness the progress of our video game from start to finish.

You’re gonna see it grow from an ugly baby that sh*ts itself (the pre-production parts that companies usually hide) to a smooth, well-hung stud that revolutionizes the industry. We’re gonna be like the a**hole parents that post every embarrassing picture of their kid on social media, on top of the good stuff.

We’re not just typing a bunch of empty words on a web site or Telegram channel. This is real.

Welcome to the first in a series of Behind-the-Scenes installments to that end. Think of them like the special features on your old DVD and BLU-RAY movies, except you’re getting them early.

After weeks of pre-production and planning, our Lead Programmer finally got to do some very preliminary work, painstakingly laying down and testing the code for some of the game mechanics.

  • THESE ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE FINAL GRAPHICS, WHICH WON’T LOOK LIKE AN 8-BIT NINTENDO GAME (THINK CELL SHADING RENDERING, ANIMATION STYLE)
  • BATTLES WILL BE ANIMATED, NOT STATIC LIKE THEY ARE HERE (THINK DARKEST DUNGEON)
  • THE ENVIRONMENTS WILL BE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. THESE ARE PLACEHOLDERS.
  • THE CHARACTER DESIGNS WILL BE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. THESE ARE PLACEHOLDERS.
  • DIALOGUE AND QUESTS WILL BE DIFFERENT

But, the first drafts of the programming still have to be laid down and tested during the pre-production, and this is what that looks like.

As we said above, we’re all about being transparent as we walk you through the entire video game production process, to show that we’re delivering a concrete and playable product (and because some of our fans love behind the scenes stuff). We’re not just getting drawings and animation we paid some guy on Fiverr for. The programming is actually one of the fundamental parts.

So, just as a little bit of fun, enjoy this playable version of what amounts to the Programmer’s Sketchbook. It’s basically like a storyboards for a movie, except interactive.

For those that don’t have the system requirements, you can view a video of it below. View controls here before playing.
